Dr Narendra Jadhav is an acclaimed Economist, who wears multiple hats as an Educationist, a Public Policy expert, a Parliamentarian and an Author in English, Marathi and Hindi Languages. He earlier headed the economic research with the Reserve Bank of India, and also worked as an Advisor to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). As the member of the Planning Commission of India and the National Advisory Council, his expertise was sought by the Government of India to evolve solutions to the most pressing and complex issues being faced by the country. He also served as the Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University.
An accomplished IAS Officer (2002:Himachal Pradesh), Dr. Abhishek Jain is currently serving as the Director, Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration, Punjab and Chandigarh. Dr. Jain is an acclaimed practitioner-academician, who completed his Master of International Development Policy from Duke University, USA. He also completed his Ph.D. in Economics (Inclusive Development and Governance). Celebrated as the ‘one with the flying fingers’, he is a three-time world typing champion, with his typing speed of 135 words per minute! He regularly delivers invited talks at LBS National Academy of Administration (Mussoorie), Syracuse University (USA), Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (Dehradun), Indian Institute of Public Administration (New Delhi), HP Institute of Public Administration (Shimla) and HP Judicial Academy (Shimla), among others.
Prof Gambhir retired as the Head of Anthropology Department at the Savitribai Phule Pune University. He also served as the Principal Investigator, Centre for Policy Research (CPR) YASHADA, Government of Maharashtra. Prof Gambhir led multiple research projects the Governments and multilateral institutions involving various policy issues such as old age, seasonal migration, rehabilitation of people, health, sanitation and hygiene, sex education and tribal welfare, among others.
Dr Rajeev Ranade is an acclaimed practitioner-academician, who retired as the Commissioner of Income Tax, Govt of India. He also served as the Additional Director, National Academy of Direct Taxes, Nagpur (NADT). During his tenure at the NADT, he mentored IRS probationers and in-service tax officers on various issues of governance and taxation. A multifaceted personality, he is a renowned Bansuri player and takes keen interest in sports, trekking, cycling, reading and classical music. Dr Ranade also worked as a distinguished faculty in India and in Muscat, Oman.
Shri Khetan is a celebrated lawyer, investigative journalist and columnist of international acclaim. In a career spanning one and half decades in journalism, he worked with major English publications and TV news networks in India, and wrote hundreds of explanatory and investigative stories on burning issues of the day. A reformist to the core, he served as the Vice-Chairperson of the Delhi Government’s top policy-making body and think-tank, the Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi. He formulated over 70 policy papers and recommendations on health, education, urban mobility, urban development, etc. Having completed his Masters in Law from University of Cambridge, he is currently practicing law in Mumbai. He writes prolifically on current affairs and political and legal issues across India and the globe.
Dr Pingale is a former IAS officer (2004:TN), who also served as the Partner (Performance Improvement Advisory) at Ernst & Young. A crusader against corruption, Dr Pingale strived hard for bringing about ground breaking changes in the Chennai Corporation while working as the Joint Commissioner. He also pioneered the use of technology to improve governance in the system. As an IAS Officer, he also worked as the Private Secretary to the Union Minister for Railways and the Union Minister for Commerce & Industry. In Ernst & Young, he is extensively working in urban infrastructure and health sectors.
Shri Ravindranath Patil is the former IPS officer, carrying a professional experience of over two decades, spanning across information technology, public service, law enforcement, forensic audit, cybersecurity and academics. He had an illustrious career in the BIG4 firms such as Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCooopers and KPMG for more than a decade. Shri Patil is a thought leader in forensics and cybersecurity, and has worked with regulators, corporate leaders and law firms across different geographies. He regularly advises central and state Indian law enforcement agencies regarding various techno-legal issues affecting them. He has delivered a multitude of invited talks for the Superior Police Officers at SVPNPA, Hyderabad and the Higher Judiciary at NJA, Bhopal. Prior to joining MIT-WPU as the Senior Director, he served as the Cyber Response Leader – KPMG, HongKong.
Dr Ravikant Joshi is an Urban Finance and Management specialist and a torch-bearer of urban reforms. He is the former Chief Accounts Officer of Vadodara Municipal Corporation with more than 35 years of experience. He has been responsible for the conceptualisation, design and implementation of Municipal Financial, Budgetary and Accounting System Reforms and their computerisation in Vadodara Municipal Corporation. Dr Joshi has extensively worked with different regulators and policy think tanks in India and abroad.
Dr Kaustubh is an accomplished medical professional and a Postgraduate in Policy Design & Management. He holds a Certificate in Public Policy and International Development from the Harris School of Public Policy, University of Chicago. He specialises in the domains of health, education, governance & international relations.
A thought-leader and a progressivist, he believes in challenging the status-quo and advocates reforms. A policy enthusiast & an expert communicator, his essays, articles, videos and podcasts on policy issues are much publicized. A prolific speaker, he is regularly invited as a panellist to discuss, debate and analyse current affairs. He has a rich and diverse experience spanning over a decade, of working in government, non-government and private sectors.
He is an avid reader, travel aficionado and a budding writer. A motivator and trainer, he has worked in Kulgam, Kashmir and Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh, for designing training programs for students affected by militancy & violence, and those from border States, respectively. For umpteen civil service aspirants, he is a friend, philosopher and guide who is always accessible.
Shri Mahesh Zagade is former principal secretary to the government of Maharashtra, who pioneered a multitude of path-breaking initiatives during his career in civil services. A champion of transparency and efficiency, he is known for his record in implementation of RTI, promoting social harmony in communally sensitive areas, effectively organising Kumbh Mela in Nashik, promoting Green Energy and bringing transparency in the Food & Drugs Administration, Govt of Maharashtra. An expert in Urban Governance, he streamlined citizen-centric projects during his stints as Municipal Commissioner, Pune and Transport Commissioner of Maharashtra. He is presently the Chairman of the Public Concern for Governance Trust, Pune Chapter. A motivational speaker and an author, Shri Mahesh Zagade believes in shaping the young minds for a better tomorrow.
An illustrious IAS officer of 2007 batch, Shri Madan Nagargoje is known for his proactive and responsive governance in Madhya Pradesh Cadre. He is presently working on deputation in Maharashtra to help the State to fight the Covid19 Pandemic. He is an author and explorer who has written books like IAS vha ! and Dindori Man: Natural History of Ghodamada Stone age Cave, Madhya Pradesh, India.
Prof Dr Rajeev Gowda is a former Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha and an eminent academician. A Masters in Economics from Fordham University, New York, Prof Gowda moved to the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA, to complete his PhD in Public Policy & Management. He went on to do post-doctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley where he was awarded the John M. Olin Post-doctoral Fellow in Law and Economics in 1991. An acclaimed Professor at prestigious Universities in the USA, he returned to India to join IIM Bangalore (IIMB) as a Professor of Economics and Social Sciences. He was instrumental in setting up the Centre for Public Policy at IIMB and was Chairperson of the same. At IIMB, Prof Gowda has taught top bureaucrats and legislators from across the country. He designed and led the India-Women in Leadership (i-WIL) programme to train women politicians.
Prof Gowda has served as the Director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India and has been a Carnegie Council Global Ethics Fellow. He is currently an Advisor for Bridge India, a progressive non-profit think tank set up in London in 2018. He is a columnist for leading publications and writes on topics like governance, political process and analysis, economic growth, education system and electoral reforms.
He is an illustrious author and has published books on Public Policy and Governance. He has spearheaded a number of initiatives to enhance citizen participation and serve vulnerable sections in his native city, Bengaluru in Karnataka.
Shri. Shashank Karnad is Partner & CEO with Mahajan & Aibara’s Forensic practice. He has 25 years’ professional experience across 30+ jurisdictions. He is a renowned Chartered Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner and Chartered Arbitrator. He has spearheaded executive development programs at the Indian School of Business and Harvard Business School. Shashank was with KPMG for 18 years, as Partner in 2011 followed by Partner and Chief Operating Officer of the Forensic practice in 2015.
Shashank’s experience encompasses regulatory areas such as FCPA, anti-money laundering, international sanctions, US class-action suits and SEC investigations. In addition, he has experience in areas such as forensic accounting, corporate intelligence, intellectual property fraud, and in issues such as victimisation and sexual harassment. He also possesses significant experience of working with law enforcement agencies, regulators and lawyers.
Additionally, Shashank has served as an expert accountant and has been cross-examined in large matters, both in India and overseas jurisdictions. He has worked as a tribunal/court appointed expert and as a mediator in arbitrations, on cross-border transactions and in post-acquisition disputes.
A highly decorated IPS Officer, Shri. Balwinder Singh retired as the Special Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He served as the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad and his leadership in containing crime in the ‘City of Pearls’ is well acknowledged. Shri Balwinder Singh is also known for his remarkable contribution as the Additional Director, Central Vigilance Commission. He is the recipient of the Police Medal for Meritorious Service and the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
Shri Mahesh Bhagwat is an embodiment of Godliness amongst the civil services fraternity in India. Currently serving as the Commissioner of Police of Rachakonda, Telangana, Shri Bhagwat is well known for his citizen-centric model of policing. He is also acclaimed as a strong community and social services professional on account of the myriad of social initiatives taken by him during his 25+ years of career in the Indian Police Service.
He has demonstrated remarkable commitment to the fight against human trafficking, and is only third IPS Officer to be conferred with the Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report Heroes Award by the US state department. His pioneering efforts are exemplified by his innovative and highly effective approach to investigating cases and his success in dismantling trafficking operations within his command areas. He spearheaded one of the largest crackdowns on labor trafficking in the country, which led to the identification and removal of more than 350 children forced to work in brick kilns.
Despite his professional commitments, his endeavours to reach out and mentor civil services aspirants throughout the country are very well acknowledged.
A Masters in Statistics, Shri. Rajesh Patil hails from a humble family in Chalisgaon, Maharashtra. He is an inspiration to thousands of rural youth, through his book – a sketch of his life – titled ‘Tai Mi Collector Vhayanu (Mother, I have become a collector). Well known as the ‘People’s IAS Officer’, his notable accomplishments in his Odisha cadre include, rescue and rehabilitation during the 2008 flooding of Mahanadi River, peaceful involvement to resolve tribal-non tribal conflicts, ‘Ready to Eat’ food programme for preschoolers and provision of water to tribal villages in Odisha. He has received the President’s Award for outstanding work for the Rehabilitation of People With Disabilities in 2014, the Prime Minister’s Award for excellence in MGNREGA implementation in Mayurbhanj district, Chief Minister Award for excellence and most innovative intervention (2016). He is presently the Municipal Commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad, where he is driving a multitude of urban reform programs.
Shri Vikram Kumar is one of the youngest IAS Officers to lead the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) as the Municipal Commissioner. He is known as an Urban Policy Expert, having also served as the Metropolitan Commissioner at Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).
Shri Kumar also carries a rich administrative experience as the Chief Executive Officer of Maharashtra Maritime Board in Mumbai, Joint Chief Executive Officer at Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) in Mumbai, Collector of Aurangabad, Commissioner of Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation, Collector of Sindhudurg and on various positions in Washim, Chandrapur and Akola districts of Maharashtra.
Shri Arif Sheikh is an enterprising IPS officer from Chhattisgarh cadre, who is known as a crusader of Community Policing. He has been awarded the prestigious International Association of Chief of Police (IACP) Award 2017 in Pennsylvania in the ‘Community Policing’ and ‘Homeland Security’ categories. He is the only IPS officer from India to win this award in community policing twice in a row.
Guinness book of world record recognized the ‘Rakhi with Khaki’ initiative led by Arif Shaikh, while he was serving as the Superintendent of Police, Bilaspur. It aimed to symbolically build trust among the women in the district. His initiative ‘Har Head Helmet’ won multiple awards in India and abroad. His humane approach to policing has been to improve the perception of people towards ‘khaki’.
An IAS officer of Maharashtra Cadre, Dr. Praveen Gedam is spearheading digitisation of healthcare in the country as the Additional CEO, National Health Authority (NHA) and MD, National Digital Health Mission. His handling of the municipal services for the Kumbh Mela at Nashik, his work as the Transport Commissioner of Maharashtra, his creative use of technology to eradicate corruption in sand-mining and his path-breaking reforms in Maharashtra’s Temple Trust administration have earned him a reputation as a disciplinarian bureaucrat.
Vikramjit Singh is presently posted as the Deputy MD of Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board and CIO of Kerala Infrastructure Fund Management Ltd. Vikramjit Singh was till recently the Country Officer for India at the International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank Group.
Vikramjit Singh is an IPS officer of the 2004 batch borne on the Kerala cadre and his career till date has been a mix of roles with the government and in the financial services sector. With the government, Vikramjit has worked in the Power Ministry, as a staff officer to the Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and the Union Minister for Defence, and as a senior police officer in the State of Kerala. In addition, Vikramjit has over eight years experience in financial services sector across development finance, investment management, actuarial consultancy and briefly in a data analytics startup.
Vikramjit is an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in Finance and Strategy and was a recipient of the Joseph Wharton Fellowship. Vikramjit also has a Masters degree in Police Management from Osmania University and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Delhi University. In addition, Vikramjit has a Post Graduate Diploma in TV Journalism from Jamia Millia Islamia.
